NEW YORK- RABBIT BREEDER LICENSING BILL
Bill S3651 puts rabbits in same category as dogs and cats. As a breeder you will be…
- Required to have a veterinarian attend to your rabbits
- Write up and follow a comprehensive preventative treatment plan
- Provide a climate-controlled environment, access to outdoor and indoor areas, genetic testing, dental work, etc.
- Be restricted to where you send retired breeding stock
- Required to attend regular training courses developed by government entities
Good news: There’s still time, this is just a bill in the senate but let’s squash it NOW! If you live in NY, please go to nysenate.gov and vote against this bill. Send an opposition email or letter to the sponsor and all Senate Consumer Protection Committee members.
